Shane & Jennifer Swartz, AQHA Breeders, Trainers, Competitors

First and Foremost, our business is based on QUALITY, HONESTY & INTEGRITY.  We market and train quality - PERIOD!!

Both Shane & Jennifer have extensive experience working with horses and cattle.
Jennifer, having grew up on a ranch and working as a ranch hand as well as a barrel horse trainer and competitor, has won numerous awards and titles from showing horses & cattle to barrel racing. Jennifer is a 15 year veteran as a barrel racing competitor and trainer. Having trained all the horses she has succeeded on, she knows what it takes to make a winner.
Shane grew up riding ranch and roping horses. Shane is a top hand on the ranch, in the feedyard and atop a horse. Shane is an avid roper and really knows how to put a good foundation on a colt.
Together we train horses with firm but light hands. As trainers we refuse to waste time on a sub-par individual. We ride what we raise & train, we raise and train what we ride. You should to!! We brand what we train here at the ranch, so you know when you see a horse with the G1 brand on their hip, you are looking at QUALITY! QUALITY TRAINS - QUALITY PERFORMS - QUALITY WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

Our Breeding and Training Philosophy

SOUND AND SANE horses are a top priority here at G1 Quarterhorses. G1 Quarter Horses was started in 2001 with the purchase of a few broodmares and my palomino stallion Dandy All American. Through trial and error I chose 3 broodmares with good proven bloodlines. My business is about quality not quantity. If I can produce a few good SOUND AND SANE horses, thats better than a lot of horses that are either SOUND OR SANE.

I, as a trainer, will not work with horses that don't have INTELLIGENCE, CORRECT CONFORMATION, & TONS OF NATURAL TALENT. Horses that have the natural ability to do the job will be easier to train and will catch on to whats being asked a lot sooner. They are also more enjoyable to ride and work with. Horses that are a joy to ride and look good doing it, sell themselves. I, as a trainer, understand my horses natural abilities and use their own talent to enhance their abilities, such as turning style. Rather than try to reinvent the horse I'll take their own style and work with it to make it better. I spend alot less time training this way than by trying to reinvent the animal. Whether I'm riding a 1D or a 4D horse I know what it takes to make them top competitors in their respective divisions. I have earned paychecks in every division from 1D -5D, from local races to races on a national level.

THE HORSES WE MARKET AND TRAIN MUST MEET A CERTAIN SET OF STANDARDS OR WE WILL NOT MARKET IT TO YOU, THE PUBLIC!!

I breed colts that are easy to work with, sweet personalities and have tons of natural talent.  I currently have colts that I can't wait to start training. I can not express how much these colts are just a dream to work with.

As a breeder and competitor, I am not much interested in what bloodline is hot on the market. I look for the bloodline that has been proven and will be proven time and time again. That is why I chose a Skipper W and Three Bars bred stallion. Most of the horses that go and have gone to the NFR had Three Bars blood somewhere in their pedigree. Hows that for Versatility?

If you are looking for a good prospect that has the brains and ability to get the job done you are looking in the right place. My goal as a breeder is to produce colts that are: EASY TO TRAIN + INTELLIGENCE + NATURAL TALENT + SOLID BONE STRUCTURE = THE PERFECT PROSPECT!!!

WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?
